Community Impact
"People who own property feel a sense of ownership in their future and their society. They study, save, work, strive, and vote. People trapped in a culture of tenancy do not." - Henry Louis Gates, Jr.
Youth Entrepreneurship & Employment
Los Compas Coffee supports the development of youth entrepreneurship in the Inland Empire through educational workshops and scholarships for graduating seniors who want to launch or grow microenterprises.
This endeavor is based on the belief that developing an entrepreneurial mindset and and small business know-how raises a young person's self-esteem, sense of ownership in society, and their economic agency, ultimately providing them with a pathway out of poverty.
Educational Partnerships
Los Compas partners with Alternative Education and Title I schools to provide middle and high school students with early exposure to entrepreneurship. Popular workshops include
- Small Business Discovery, Design, and Planning
